Hot and Humid, Scattered Storms

An unsettled upper level weather pattern will keep skies partly cloudy today. We could see a few scattered showers and thunderstorms by this afternoon, but most of us will stay dry. Look for a hot and muggy day, with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Partly cloudy skies stick around overnight, keeping lows around 70 degrees.

A cold front on Wednesday night will bring a better chance at organized storms. The moisture, warmth, and instability that built in the past few days will mean some of the storms may become severe.

Behind the front, cooler air will clear us out on Thursday. Highs will drop back into the mid 70s by the weekend. A large trof of low pressure is setting up in Canada for the end of the week. This could shoot a few waves of energy at us, bringing rain chances by the weekend. Scattered storms will begin developing on Friday night and continue into Saturday. Sunday will be clear, but more cloud cover will move in by early next week.
