Severe Storms Early This Week

A very large low pressure system will slowly churn east early this week, bringing strong to severe thunderstorm chances through at least Tuesday. We'll start off with a few showers this morning, before partly cloudy skies warm us into the mid to upper 80s by early this afternoon.

The late afternoon and early evening hours will see those strong storms building in. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threat, but we can't rule out an isolated tornado.

Storms continue overnight, only allowing lows to drop into the mid to upper 60s. We could see more strong to severe storms during the day on Tuesday, but the outlook will be based on how much we drain the atmosphere of resources today. Rain continues into Wednesday as well, but dropping temperatures will limit thunderstorm activity. Sunshine will move in for the end of the week. Highs will only reach the upper 60s and low 70s through Friday. Another storm system looks to build in for Sunday and Monday, as southerly winds warm highs back into the low 80s.
