This month, as well as spring has been abnormally dry across central Illinois. While we have seen a few showers here and there across the area for the month, it has been several weeks since a significant rain has fallen across the area.
Our best rain chance in quite some time will roll in Thursday, as an upper level low moves into the region. Showers should start just after midnight to the north, and filling in across the area through the morning and afternoon hours on Thursday.
The rain does come at a price. Significantly cooler temperatures will roll into the region for Thursday and Friday, with Thursday being the coolest of the two days, running a good 20° below average for the last day of May.
Another round of showers will be possible on Saturday, giving us a 3 day total possibility of between 1-2" of new rain.
