Cooler & Drier Midweek

A cold front from last night will leave cooler and drier air across Central Illinois for today and tomorrow. Skies will continue to clear this afternoon, leaving us with sunshine and highs in the low 80s.

High pressure building in from the northwest will continue to drop highs for Wednesday. Despite sunshine, we'll only see the low 70s tomorrow afternoon. By Wednesday night, cloud cover will increase as a low pressure system approaches from the south. This will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.

Because we'll be north of the warm front (on the cool side) for the duration of the event, cloud cover and rain will keep highs in the mid 60s. Southerly winds and sunshine will help warm us back into the 80s for much of next week.
