Tropical Depression Isaac continues to move north today,
threatening the Midwest with heavy rainfall for the holiday weekend. We'll
start with an increase in cloud cover for the day today. Highs will still hit
the upper 80s and low 90s.
By this afternoon, scattered storms will develop in
from the southwest. Rain will become more widespread overnight, increasing in
intensity for the weekend. Though the heaviest of the rainfall from Isaac will
likely be south of us, we could still see 1-3" this weekend. The latest computer models seem to be slowing the system down a bit, so we could see a few showers lasting
into Monday morning. However, most of us look to dry out just in time for Labor
Day.
Highs will only hit the upper 70s and low 80s this weekend, with mid 80s possible
early next week. An unsettled pattern will build in by Wednesday, increasing
cloud cover and bringing a chance of rain on Thursday. Behind this system,
cooler temperatures will build in for next weekend.
