One More Sunny Day

Upper level ridge of high pressure will keep us clear and dry today. Sunshine and winds out of the south will boost temperatures into the mid 90s for highs. We’ll be calm and comfortable overnight with lows around 70 degrees.

Changes in the forecast begin on Friday. Cloud cover will increase during the day, limiting highs to the upper 80s and low 90s. By Friday night, the remnant low pressure system left by Isaac will edge north. Rain chances with that will move in on Friday evening, lasting through Saturday and Sunday. 3”-6” of rain is possible with this storm. Flash flooding may be a risk. However, the exact track of the low is still uncertain and it will move into a section of dry air. Both of these could limit rain totals for the weekend.

Central Illinois will dry out just in time for Labor Day. Look for partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 80s for the beginning of next week. An unsettled upper level weather pattern will build in by the middle of next week. Cloud cover will increase and temperatures will cool by next Thursday.
