Storm Chances Continue
Even though it's a quiet start to the morning, storm chances will return for the next few afternoon. A wave of upper level energy will interact with the outflow boundaries of the storms to our north. This will provide the lift needed for thunderstorms this afternoon. Add in highs near 90, humidity and instability, and a few of them could be strong to severe. Damaging winds will be the primary threat, but we could also see heavy downpours, dangerous lightning, and hail. Storms continue overnight with lows only dropping into the low 70s. We'll see a break in the action on Wednesday morning, but then a cold front charging through Wednesday afternoon will bring severe storm chances. Those should move out Wednesday night, but temperatures remain warm in the mid to upper 80s for the rest of the week. Sunshine will move in for Thursday, but cloud cover will increase into the weekend. An upper level wave Friday into Saturday will bring storm chances back to the area. They will be centered around Saturday, but we could see a few Friday and Sunday as well. A push of cooler air will keep highs in the upper 70s and low 80s this weekend. Early next week will be sunny with highs near 80 degrees.
