Cool Down on the Way
It promises to be another hot and humid day in central Illinois. Highs will reach the upper 80s and low 90s again this afternoon. A quick wave of upper level energy could pop up a few strong to severe isolated storms in the northeast. Most of us will stay dry and clear out overnight. Lows will drop back into the mid to upper 60s. On or two more pop up storms will be possible Friday afternoon, but most of us should stay partly cloudy. Temperatures will cool into the weekend. Highs will reach the mid 80s tomorrow and the upper 70s Saturday and Sunday. Our next real chance at rain comes with an upper level wave on Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will clear out during the evening and overnight. Next week will start off sunny and comfortable with highs near 80 degrees. An upper level area of low pressure will slide back in from the east into the middle of next week. That will keep storm chances around Tuesday through Thursday. Temperatures will remain comfortable in the low to mid 80s through Friday.
