Snow Ends And Spring Like Temps On The Way

Snow Ends And Spring Like Temps On The Way

Area wide snow fall totals ranged from 2" and upwards of a foot in some areas.
While greater totals remain in the south central Illinois, many areas still picked up on impressive totals.

Many records were broken, including Peoria. The old record was 3.7" in 1933 and so far the new preliminary record is ~8.8". The NWS is still updating snow fall totals before releasing an official report.

The next couple of days will be well below average with highs struggling to get out of the mid to upper 30's.

Also as the late winter storms tracks further to the east, it still has strong cyclonic flow with it; which will try to squeeze out a few flurries into the next 24-36 hours.

By Wednesday more sunshine returns and temps near 40° but the real warm up is at the end of the week and into the weekend.
