A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for all of central Illinois until 4 pm this afternoon. Wind gusts will be as strong as 50 mph.
An exiting low pressure system is the reason for the strong winds and mostly cloudy skies early today. We could see some sunshine this afternoon with highs in the upper 30s. Continued clearing and calming winds are expected overnight. Lows will drop back into the mid 20s.
Tuesday will be sunny and slightly warmer in the low 40s. The middle of the week will be mild in the low to mid 40s. Valentine's Day is looking lovely with partly cloudy skies and highs near 40. A burst of cold air dives in at the end of the week, dropping highs into the upper 20s on Friday and Saturday. We'll warm things up into next week, but a storm system will move in Monday night into Tuesday bringing a good chance of rain and wintry mix.
