A rather foggy start to Wednesday, the last day of July, but should be warmer in comparison to Tuesday.
Highs stretch into the low 80's today with cooler condition off in the northeast, where also there is a chance for a few scattered showers this afternoon.

Tonight clouds should begin to thin out for a clear evening.
Lows tonight will be in the low 60's.

The rest of the week remains a couple degrees below average still, in the ow 80's, but more rain is on the way for our Friday.

The cooling trend isn't over just yet, expect another week of below average temperatures.
High's Monday will be in the mid to low 70's.
Sunshine will dominate the skies for our Monday.

Clouds build in overnight Monday with scattered showers starting early Tuesday morning.
 Not a wash out, most of the heavier showers will be in our southern counties and south of them.

QPF models suggest only around .10" of rainfall Tuesday.

Biggest area of concern is how low temps will get tonight.
Most should see low 50's, while some could dip into the upper 40's.

Ridge of high pressure still dominating the region, so sunshine will remain in the forecast for the remainder of the weekend.

Highs Sunday will be in the low 70's - about 15 degrees below average.

Near Record Setting Temps This Weekend

A cold front will pass through central Illinois Friday night, allowing for reinforcing cool air to move into the Midwest for the weekend.  Here's a look at the coolest high records, and record lows for Saturday and Sunday.  Sunday morning low is very much in jeopardy of being broken.

Storms Moving Through

6:33pm update: Storms firing along a cold front are moving through central Illinois this evening.  Storms wills stay below severe limits, but could produce heavy rain at times.  Rain should clear the area by mid evening for most of central Illinois.

Comfortable Again Tonight

Wrapping up another beautiful day across the area.  Temperatures struggled to hit the 80° mark across many locations today.

Another night of temperatures falling to the upper 50's across the area will make for a comfortable evening across central Illinois.  Showers and storms firing along a cold front out west will continue to head our way during the overnight hours.

Showers and storms will be scattered for much of our Friday morning and afternoon.  The cold front should move out of the area by the evening.

Extended Outlook:  Temperature will again fall in the wake of Friday's cold front.  Highs for Saturday and Sunday will only top out in the mid to upper 70's.  Next rain chance will arrive on Tuesday.

Overnight clouds trek in during the predawn hours as a cold front advances into the area.
