Sunshine should return briefly this afternoon but clouds build back in tonight.
Highs today are near average around 85°.
Lows tonight stay in the upper 60's and low 70's.
Cold front approaching overnight will spark showers and thunderstorms later this evening.
Moderate to heavy downpours and gusty winds will be the main threat.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed counties west of the Illinois River under a slight risk for Wednesday.
