Normal Temps Tuesday

Temperatures for the early evening hours are chilly, but fairly standard for this time of year.  Skies remain clear, and should continue to stay cloud free as we head into the evening and overnight.

Sunny, but Cool

Clearing skies overnight dropped temperatures into the teens and 20s early this morning. Just a few clouds will build in this afternoon but highs will only reach the mid 30s. Overnight lows will drop lows into the low 20s. Southerly winds and sunshine will warm highs into the upper 30s and low 40s tomorrow. The warm up continues into the end of the week with highs into the mid to upper 40s Thursday and Friday. A storm system moving in will increase cloud cover at the end of the week. Rain chances begin late Friday night and last into Saturday. Temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s will keep snow out of the forecast. Sunday is looking dry as cooler air filters in. Highs into early next week will only reach the mid to upper 30s.

Chilly Overnight Temps Tonight

Skies are beginning to clear just to our west, where temperatures have already dropped to the mid to upper teens.  Expect the clouds to clear out during the overnight hours.

As skies continue to clear, temperatures should drop pretty quickly.  Lows will fall into the teens area wide, with the coldest temperatures in the west where clearing will evolve much sooner than the rest of central Illinois.

Seasonable temperatures for mid December, with a return of sunshine expected for Tuesday.  Highs top out in the mid to upper 30's

Chilly Temperatures

2pm Temperatures across central Illinois have lingered into the mid to upper 20's.  Clouds will remain in place for the remainder of the afternoon, with gradual clearing overnight.  Cold air from Canada continues to spill through much of the nations mid sections, with readings in the 40's as far south as Dallas, TX.

Blustery Start to the Week

Leftover cloud cover from the weekend and breezy northwesterly winds will keep us very cool today. We're starting off the morning with temperatures in the low to mid 20s and highs today will only reach the low to mid 30s. A quick wave of upper level energy will add on a chance of flurries during the late morning and early afternoon. No accumulation is expected.

Calming winds and some clearing are possible overnight dropping lows into the upper teens. Tuesday will see some sunshine but temperatures will stay cool in the mid to upper 30s. After some cloud cover Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday will be sunny. Southerly winds will warm highs into the low to mid 40s. Cloud cover will be back by Friday as a storm system approaches the area. Rain chances will start late Friday night and last us most of Saturday. Temperatures will still be in the upper 30s and 40s, so snow is not likely. Cooler upper 30s will build in for Sunday and Monday with dry conditions expected into next week.

Cold Temps Move In

Rain has moved off to the east, leaving us dry under mostly cloudy skies.  Arctic push of air is now sliding into the western part of the state.

Despite the cloud cover, temperatures will be very chilly with lows falling to the mid 20's

Temperatures won't recover much as we roll through Monday afternoon.  A few peaks of sunshine could pop through during the afternoon.

 Another chilly day on the way for Tuesday, before a nice little warm up moves back in for the middle and end of the week.

Some Rain Hanging Around

Rain showers lingering just to our south, while snow is moving in just to our north.  Most of central Illinois is seeing light drizzle, with some patchy fog.  Temperatures remain in the lower 40's, but much colder air is waiting to move in to our west.
